Hotel Lifehacks
One of the best ways to best enjoy your stay is to use everything in the hotel’s great chance amenities that the indoor and seasonal outdoor pools can provide. A nice tip is planning to have a restful afternoon at the hotel after sightseeing in the morning, by taking advantage of a swim or chilling out in the fitness center. It helps reenergize one over summer travel or an exhausted long day’s travel.
To really get the region Bergamo is gorgeous you have to see Città Alta (High City) of Bergamo only 15 minutes away from the hotel. What a good idea is to drive to the Città Bassa (Low City), take the ancient funicular railway up the steep hill and avoid the hassle of trying to drive and park in the narrow, restricted-traffic streets of this medieval city: it makes quite a fun and memorable trip in itself to visit.
Take a day trip using the hotel’s easy access to the motorway. The great city of Milan is only about an hour’s drive by car, and both the pretty shores of either Lake Como or Lake Iseo can be reached and returned from on the same day. Its location and free parking make it a far more economical and less stressful base for these excursions as compared to staying in the pricey and congested city centers.
Although the hotel does not boast its dinner restaurant, one very good must if one wants to enjoy tasty authentic local food is to ask the attentive staff for their personal recommendation for a nearby ‘trattoria’ or ‘agriturismo’ (farm restaurant). These family-run places, often only a few minutes’ drive, provide great, home-cooked regional food in a rustic ambiance and are a much better thing to do than just going out to a typical hotel restaurant.
